Individual Psychotherapy
The first step to healing and achieving goals is to understand the origin of one’s challenges, the patterns that a person is stuck in and the choices that an individual has.
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself, just as I am, then I can change.
- Carl Rogers
Making a decision to see someone might be a tricky one if you do not understand what to expect.
In your first session, your therapist will ask you questions and allow you space to share your experiences to understand your difficulties and the social, professional and family context you are in. Following your first session, your therapist will share with you a conceptualization of the origin of your difficulties, and patterns you are stuck in and then together with you, construct a plan of care.
We rely on evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help guide your treatment and propose coping strategies that will help you as you navigate your struggles.
You and your therapist will decide the frequency of meetings and will check in on a regular basis about the elements of therapy that work and do not work and resolve any conflicts that might arise.
Your relationship with your therapist is another relationship in your life; as you learn to trust, correct and resolve conflicts in this relationship you will learn to apply the insight you gain to all the other relationships.
Duration of a therapy session is 50 mins; cost of a session is $250.
