Dr. Khuraman Mamedova is a registered Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).
She provides services to adults with psychological, neurodevelopmental and neuropsychological difficulties. Dr. Mamedova received both her Master’s and Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at York University. She has been providing psychological services to adults over the past 5 years and has worked and received training at Brampton Civic Hospital Adult Outpatient Unit, Toronto Western Hospital Bariatric Surgery Unit and Centre for Addictions and Mental Health at the Gender Identity Clinic and Complex Care and Recovery Program as well as at York University Psychology Clinic and in private practice settings providing both psychological services to adults and offering consultation to other professionals.
Dr. Mamedova’s therapeutic approach is based on Rogerian principles of Client-Centered Therapy and is focused on establishing a confidential, caring, and compassionate therapeutic relationship to help individuals comfortably share their thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationship issues that have been most distressing for them. She employs empirically supported treatment approaches to ensure that an individual’s concerns are addressed using well-established therapeutic and assessment practices.
Dr. Mamedova practices an integrative approach and is trained in the provision of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Dr. Mamedova offers psychodiagnostic assessments for individuals with psychiatric conditions. She also offers neuropsychological assessments for adults with neurological disorders and acquired brain injuries (e.g., concussion), as well as psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational assessments for a broad range of concerns (e.g., learning and attention-related disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder).
Dr. Mamedova continues engaging in professional development and is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association. She also offers supervision to the members of the College of Psychologists of Ontario or those seeking registration with the College. She also offers consultation services to allied professionals and professionals who seek to improve their leadership skills, acquire and augment conflict-resolution skills and improve the working environment.
When she is not working, Dr. Mamedova is an avid tennis fan and enjoys learning new languages, biking, baking, studying and creating perfumes.
